Halving

A scheduled halving of the block reward paid to miners. For Bitcoin it happens roughly every 4 years.

Halving cuts the rate at which new coins are issued in half. For Bitcoin this happens every 210,000 blocks (~4 years). A reduction in supply has historically been associated with price growth, although there is no direct guarantee.
